Foundation & Establishment

Sentara Hospital was founded with a core team of 10 dedicated physicians and a 30-bed facility. Our founding principle was clear: bring international-quality healthcare to the people of Kolkata at accessible costs.

First Major Expansion

Expanded to 100 beds and launched specialized departments in Cardiology and Neurology. Established our first ICU unit and 24/7 emergency services, making Sentara a true round-the-clock care facility.

NABH Accreditation & ISO Certification

Achieved National Accreditation Board for Hospitals accreditation and ISO 9001 certification, cementing our reputation for quality, safety, and institutional excellence. This milestone was celebrated with the launch of our Oncology center.

Robotic Surgery Program Launch

Became one of the first hospitals in Eastern India to introduce robotic-assisted surgical systems for orthopedic and urological procedures. This technology revolution brought minimally invasive precision surgery to Kolkata's patients.

COVID-19 Response & Resilience

During the pandemic, Sentara Hospital established a dedicated COVID care center with 80 isolation beds, a 24-bed COVID ICU, and community vaccination drives that helped protect thousands of Kolkata's residents.
